The event takes place on a 1000m upstream course between Temple Island and Upper Thames Rowing Club.

The course: Two lanes, boomed with stake boats.

The programme of events will be strictly adhered to. Any competitor who has entered more than one event and is then unable or unwilling to meet the regatta timetable may withdraw but will be liable for the entry fees for the events entered.

| General Information Including Information for Overseas Competitors |
(This information is supplementary to that on the poster and is primarily intended for entrants from overseas).
- The event operates under the ARA Rules of Racing and Water Safety Code. The rules are generally similar to FISA rules. One exception is the age of entry into Veteran competition. A competitor must be in his/her 31st year to qualify. The safety code requires that all boats must have bow balls, heel restraints for flexible shoes and must be in good condition. All coxes must wear a buoyancy aid.
- Composite crews are welcomed. The members of a crew described as composite should wear the colours of the club to which they belong.
- Entry is restricted to members of Clubs in Associations affiliated to FISA.
- All entries must be on ARA entry forms. A competitors name, age and club are required. A separate form should be used for each entry.
- Entry fees should be paid in pounds sterling, cheques made payable to Henley Veteran Regatta.
- Heats & Quarter finals will be rowed on Friday 10th, and are anticipated to run between 10.30 hrs and 17.30 hrs. (Due to the number of entries received - certain semi-finals may need to be held on the Friday.
- Semi finals & Finals will be rowed on Saturday 11th between 8.00 hrs and 18.00 hrs.
- Traffic – competitors are advised that the Henley Festival of Music and Arts will be running on the evenings of the regatta. Traffic delays are therefore to be expected and competitors should take extra care when driving in and out of the regatta car parks and adjacent roads.
- Car Parking – competitors cars may be parked free of charge in the Hillside car park when displaying a Competitors Parking Ticket which will be posted out with the entry confirmations information. Spectators may also use this car park (cost £6) or the Meadows Riverside car park (£12)
- Trailer Parking - all trailers and cars carrying sculling boats must be parked in the Hillside car park. It is no longer possible to park trailers in the Riverside car park adjacent to the river. The Hillside car park gates will remain open from 07.00am on Thursday 9th July until 17:00 on Monday 13th July. Crews requiring parking facilities outside of these times, please contact Jenny Robb.
- Facilities for camping are available at the Glebe campsite, just by Remenham church, a couple of minutes walk from the regatta site, courtesy of the Copas partnership. The campsite is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The charge is £15 per tent / caravan including vehicle. For further information/bookings please contact Copas Partnership:

- Changing – Facilities for men & women will be found in the Regatta Field as well as limited facilities at Upper Thames Clubhouse.
- Catering – during the day food and drink will be available from the Barn Bar near Remenham Farm.
- The regatta is affiliated to the ARA and held under ARA rules.
- All competitors must comply with the ARA Water Safety Code
- Boat registration rules require all boats, including those from overseas, to clearly display their 6 digit identification number on the sides of the boat.
- Crews must proceed to the Start and leave the course after racing in accordance with the circulation pattern (PDF). Crews crossing the course MUST NOT impede races in progress.
- The first named crew in each race will take the Berkshire station
- Crews must be attached to the stake boat 2 minutes, before the time of their race
- No practising will be allowed on the course from 30 minutes before the first race. No practice starts will be allowed on the course during the Regatta.
- Winners’ medals will be presented at the Presentation Raft as crews return from the finish of their final race.
- The order of events advertised on the Poster for Regatta will be strictly adhered to for finals, semi-finals and heats. Events not included in the Schedule of Racing will be incorporated to suit competitors as far as possible.
- Heats and Quarter finals will normally take place on Friday and Semi Finals and Finals generally on Saturday.
- If the number of entries for the Regatta exceeds that which can be accommodated the Organising Committee reserves the right to restrict entries be determining a cut-off date for the acceptance of entries.
- Crews or individuals entered in more than event who are unable or unwilling to comply with the Programme of Racing may withdraw from an event but will forfeit the entry for that event.
- Where appropriate the Veteran Handicap System will be used in accordance with the Operating Notes in the ARA Almanac.
- The Organising Committee reserves the right to suspend any crew whom in their opinion cannot demonstrate competent watermanship or safe rowing technique.
- The decision of the Organising Committee on any aspect of the operating of the Regatta will be final.
FAILURE OF COMPETITORS TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES MAY LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION FROM AN EVENT OR FROM THE REGATTA
