Those rowing at club level have a diverse set of
goals, ranging from winning Novice pots, having a weekly 'chat'
paddle, perhaps entering an occasional sculling head, to those
training within time constraints in order to compete at the
Upper Thames Henley Veteran regatta (which, incidentally,
takes place on the club's premises).
The coaching team for the Club rowers is:
-
Dom Foley - Dom as many year's coaching experience
at some leading clubs, mostly on the lower reaches of
the Thames. He has been at UTRC since 2005, and in this
time has coached a number of different groups of Intermediates
and novices, both men and women. Dom has also coxed at
a high level, and so understands what is required all
the way up the rowing spectrum. He is also an instructor
of Yoga meaning he has a wide knowledge of physiology
which benefits the club in general and the Club rowers
in particular.
-
Jonathan Langlands - Jonathan has been involved
with coaching at UTRC for several years and is also a
qualified skiing coach. He has been helping out recently
with the Intermediate group within the women's squad,
whose goals are to train and have fun in equal measure,
as well as win some pots below elite level.
The Club rowers are also supported by all the other
coaches in the club, who willingly give their time to help
those members who ask for it. |
