Upper Thames win Bronze at the Inter Regional Regatta

The club was also represented at the weekend at the inter regional regatta.

Tom and Harry Berkley represented the Thames Upriver Regional squad in the J14 double sculls. The competition in the final was very strong and after 1,750 metres with only 250 metres to go they found themselves in fifth position. They put in an inspired final push for the line, and finished in bronze medal position.

In his age category, Ben Maxwell found himself up against some of the best scullers in the country, but he too produced a tremendous effort in winning a bronze medal. These placings, along with other solid performances from rowers across the region, ensured that the Thames Upriver team won this national event.

Topping off a good weekend for Upper Thames, Ollie Morgan finished second in trials for the Welsh National Junior team in Cardiff. He will now represent Wales in the Ghent international Spring regatta in Belgium.
