The Clubhouse returns @UTRC
After a successful Regatta in 2021, the Clubhouse @ UTRC returns for 2022. Contact us now to secure your place for your Club!

We are offering a limited number of pitches to other Rowing Clubs to create a base at HRR where you can enjoy the racing in the company of fellow rowing fans, creating the first Rowing village on the course
This year there are many changes and reductions in the available options for finding a home base and enjoying the racing at the regatta. In the middle of all the reductions, it’s our pleasure to offer a totally new option to our fellow Clubs to create a home away from home on the course at HRR for the benefit of their members. Come and join us for what promises to be an exceptional year!
Based on the members lawn at Upper Thames Rowing Club, each pitch will allow a club to put up their own club gazebo (up to 3m x3m) with tickets for 30 guests
Pitches + 30 passes: | Price | Price per person |

FAQ:
Q: Who is this aimed at?
A: We wanted to create a space for Rowing Clubs at HRR. Our inspiration is partly our neighbours, Remenham Club, who are the HRR base for many London Clubs, and partly the now common sights of the Club Gazebos alongside the Multi-lane events at Dorney. We thought that UTRC was in a great place to serve the wider rowing community and we are starting out to make that happen!
Q: How does it work?
A: You (or you club) takes a pitch on our Clubhouse Lawn, in front of the Upper Thames Clubhouse. You’re then welcome to set up as you want (within reason!) and to invite up to 30 of your guests to join you to take a river side seat in the middle of the action to enjoy the days racing and hopefully support your club, friends and family as they compete at the regatta. You’ll have your own area, and also access to the viewing gallery and the rest of the members lawn @UTRC. Your guests are free to enter and exit throughout the day. You are in charge of your passes, and you’re free to rotate them amongst your members if you wish, you just have to make sure that it’s one out, one in so that you do not exceed your total capacity at any point. Our stewards will be at the entrance to ensure that every person has a badge when entering and at all times while in the Clubhouse
Q: What about Food and Drink?
A: Food and Drink:
- You can provide your own food for your guests, or take advantage of the street food offering on the Riverside enclosure next to the Clubhouse
- You’ll have to buy your drinks from us as the licence holders for the area. We will have a broad selection of competitively priced drinks available to order
- We will also be offering hampers to pre-order for delivery to you on the day, subject to confirmation
- We also intend to offer pre-purchased bottled drinks for delivery to your area on arrival
- Technology permitting, we hope to provide an online ordering system for both food and drink
Q: What else are you offering?
A: You’ll also have access to the covered balcony and the Clubroom in case of bad weather, and our Members lawn area will have chairs, benches and parasols available. You’ll also be able to use our viewing balcony (if not booked for private events) which looks directly over the towpath and the regatta course, right after the 3/4 mile signal and just before Remenham Club
Q: What rules are you putting in place for Covid-19 compliance?
We will review the guidance in place until the event. Please see our guidance from 2021 below as a reference
All attendees are responsible for undertaking their own health risk assessment and should not travel to the event if:
- You are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
- You have had a recent positive test for COVID-19 within the last 14 days
- A member of your household or bubble are displaying COVID-19 symptoms or are awaiting COVID-19 test results
- You have been required to isolate due to being contacted via the NHS Test and Trace App.
Face Masks/Coverings: Although the legal requirement to wear a face covering in England has ended, we ask that you respect members, guests and staff who wish to wear them. In line with Government guidance, you are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings when in crowded and enclosed spaces and where social distancing is not possible, for example the toilet facilities and bar areas.
Social Distancing: We request that everyone keep their distance from other groups as far as reasonably practicable, and to treat others with respect and kindness. We may need to restrict the numbers in inside areas at any one time during bad weather or should it become too busy.
Q: What about parking for guests?
Unfortunately, the limited parking at UTRC is needed for our operation and key employees, so we can’t offer any parking. Copas offer parking on the Remenham Hillisde which is the closest area to the Club. See here https://henleyregatta.com/
Q: What will the opening hours be?
You’ll be free to set up from 1 hour before racing begins each day of the Regatta, and the Clubhouse will be open until at least 1 Hour after the end of racing
Q: Is there a Dress Code?
A: Yes. It’s not Stewards, but we’d like our guests to celebrate some of the traditions of HRR, and dress at least Smart Casual while in the Clubhouse. Shirts and trousers or smart shorts are required, there are always extra marks for Club Blazers. You don’t need to wear a tie, but don’t forget to bring one if you are going to Stewards. We also make allowances for competitors, who can remain in their training/racing kit if needed, and we don’t have a Dress Code for Children, who are welcome at all times
Q: I just want to book a few spaces with friends to meet up. What are my options?
A: We are delighted to also host the Riverside at Upper Thames, next to our Clubhouse. More information on this area will be available soon
Q: I’m already a member of UTRC. What about me?
A: As a paid up member of UTRC, you’ll continue to get you Members Badge and guest badges which will allow you and your guests full access to the Clubhouse for all 5 days of Regatta, so you’ll be able to enjoy HRR as usual from our privileged location on the course
